HI Home Ownership Incubator

HI’s Homeownership Incubator is a house on Gertrude Street with two three-bedroom apartments. Participants in the program rent one of the two units for 12 to 18 months. Each month, they will meet with a credit counselor and a portion of their rent will go into an escrow account toward a downpayment when they are ready to buy a house. Once they are credit ready and have accumulated enough money for a downpayment, participants will purchase a house from HI through its Hazelwood Affordable Home Ownership Program. For more information, contact Dave Brewton, HI’s Senior Director of Real Estate at (412) 421-7234 or dbrewton@hazelwoodinitiative.org.
