The Homepage

The Homepage reaches approximately 10,500 households in Pittsburgh's Fifth Council District to keep readers informed and engaged in their  respective and neighboring communities.

In general, we cover and promote local events, profile small businesses & service providers, and report on issues affecting local housing, food security, community development, health, environmentalism, and social justice. The paper is also as a platform for self-expression, story telling, and knowledge sharing among neighbors.

We welcome new ideas and contributors! We're always looking for local volunteers interested in writing, activism, photography, or graphic design to add more content and style to our pages. Maybe we have neglected a topic that you feel deserves more attention. Perhaps there is a leader in your community in need of proper recognition, or maybe we lack a certain perspective that you could provide to enrich our coverage.

HI Membership

While our meetings are open to everyone, only HI members have voting power at meetings and elections. We ask all of our members to contribute just $12 per year to remain in good standing.

Those interested in membership can complete this form to join. Dues can either be paid at our monthly meetings or mailed to our office.
