Calvin Dziewulski brings a commitment to inclusive environments and a master's degree in urban planning and public affairs to the role.

Hazelwood Initiative Inc. welcomed Calvin Dziewulski as real estate projects manager in March.
As real estate projects manager, Mr. Dziewulski’s duties revolve around property acquisition, construction management and property management for both residential and commercial developments in Hazelwood. This role expands the organization’s capacity to create and preserve affordable housing and the vitality of the neighborhood’s business district.
Mr. Dziewulski will graduate this month with a master’s degree in urban planning and public affairs from the University of Pittsburgh. He has been an intern at Hazelwood Initiative Inc. since 2024.
He brings a deep commitment to the work.
“I’m drawn to creating environments where people feel genuinely included and supported and where they have the tools to advocate for themselves,” he said.
Originally from Greensburg, Mr. Dziewulski has lived in the South Side Slopes for the past four years.
His feeling for the Hazelwood neighborhood draws on its history and people. He cites the role that the neighborhood’s steel mill workers played in building the entire country.
“The people here are friendly and the homes are beautiful,” he said. “I am humbled to be in a position to work with the great folks at Hazelwood Initiative to preserve the integrity of the neighborhood.”
Mr. Dziewulski also enjoys photography and taking long walks through the city with his dog, a Plott hound named Jake.
“These walks have made me fall in love with the city, its people and the stories they tell,” he said.
