The redevelopment of the historic Gladstone School is close to completion.
Hazelwood residents drove the plan to create beautiful, high-quality mixed-income housing in a place where generations learned, played and grew.
8 two-bedroom apartments
43 of the units will be affordable to households at or below 60% of the area median income (AMI),
20 apartments will include housing vouchers provided by the Housing Authority City of Pittsburgh.
6 units will be fully ADA accessible
Washer, dryer and dishwasher in every unit
On-site management suite
A top-floor lounge with a skyline view
A historic auditorium/community room
Resident flex space for events and small group activities
An exercise room
An outdoor patio
Gladstone Residences will be an all-electric development certified under Enterprise Green Building Communities 2015.
The adaptive reuse of Gladstone Residences has been made possible through funding provided by the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency, Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh, Housing Authority City of Pittsburgh, Federal and State Historic Tax Credits administered through the National Park Service and Hazelwood Initiative. The residential redevelopment of the historic property will be financed in part by PNC Bank’s investment in a combination of federal low income housing tax credits (LIHTC) and federal and state historic tax credits (HTC).
SOTA Construction has led construction of Gladstone Residences with design by the architectural firm Rothschild Doyno Collaborative.
Leasing at Gladstone Residences is expected to begin in Spring of 2024.
