Art and creativity are thriving throughout Hazelwood. Neighborhood nonprofit Arts Excursions Unlimited is working on several different projects, some of which I will touch on here. The artworks are at different stages with various levels of complexity, scale and timelines. There’s room for you in all our projects.

Pittsburgh Water announced on July 31 a project to repair public sewer mains around the city. The water authority, also known as PWSA, said the work will start in Hazelwood.

During fabrication week at Industrial Arts Workshop’s sixth Summer Welding Boot Camp in Hazelwood, the studio at 5434 Herbert Way buzzed and sparked with welding machines in action. Some students worked in booths, while others paired up behind red safety screens. After weeks of planning and training, they were building this year’s final project: a human-sized bird commissioned by Bethel Park Elementary School.
