OneValley moved into The Roundhouse at 4165 Blair St. in 2021. It collected a variety of tenants, from tech types in the orbit of Mill 19 to lawyers, accountants, and small nonprofits with roots in the neighborhood. In June, as the eviction date loomed, those nonprofits were scrambling to find somewhere that would meet their needs as well as OneValley had.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s July 13 editorial, “The real reason Four Mile Run is still a flood trap” ignores or mangles basic facts in an effort to rewrite history and blame the victims of potentially catastrophic flooding in The Run. Indeed, this could happen at any time, but not because our community exposed an attempted land grab by privateers operating behind closed doors.

Two of the big projects planned for Hazelwood Green took significant strides forward in recent weeks. Hazelwood-based nonprofit Center of Life received a $5 million matching grant toward the construction of its community center. The Steelers planned community athletic field got Planning Commission approval. Neither project has broken ground yet.
