The May 12 Greater Hazelwood community meeting started off a little slow, possibly on account of the gorgeous spring weather. But neighbors and friends of Hazelwood trickled in until a good crowd was assembled to learn about fun events planned on Hazelwood Green this summer. But first, they heard a presentation about a wealth-building program available to any Housing Authority of City of Pittsburgh resident or housing choice voucher holder.

The Feb. 10 Greater Hazelwood monthly hybrid community meeting saw a robust turnout. Neighbors gathered to hear about the next housing development coming to Hazelwood Green and events planned on the plaza this year. Remember the bus shelters with a migratory theme? They are getting closer to landing. But first, attendees heard about housing study findings that may shape affordable housing development in the neighborhood for years to come.

They also learned about a possible concept for the former home of Josza’s Corner. In Hazelwood Green news, an obscure zoning code change was discussed. Representatives from Module Housing visited for a second time to talk about their planned development.
